Carlos Flores is an Attorney in the Boca Raton office focusing on litigation defense. His practice is centered on the defense claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act, the Defense Base Act, and the Jones Act. Additionally, his practice focuses on general commercial litigation. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 2018. Carlos is licensed to practice law in the state of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Carlos was then raised in Boca Raton, Florida and he completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida. He graduated from his undergraduate with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Art in Criminal Justice. Carlos Flores then obtained his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University of Law School in May of 2018. At Tulane, he was a part of the Trial Advocacy group and completed 118 pro bono hours of work. During his time at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, he studied advanced training in dispute resolution and mediation.
Carlos Flores has extensive experience with civil litigation throughout his education and used his work ethic to enter his career to a successful start as a litigator. He worked with the Broward County Public Defender Office in the Felony Division as a legal assistant in 2016. Then, he was employed at Bogani & Robes PLLC as a summer associate in 2017. Carlos also aided as a judicial intern for The Honorable Fredericka Wicker for the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. During law school, he was a law clerk at a boutique white-collar defense firm in New Orleans and after graduation, he was an associate attorney for prominent litigation firm Fowler Rodriguez LLC.
His work included drafting motions for federal civil matters, including injunctions to prevent enforcement of non-compete agreements. He has experience with Admiralty Jurisdiction and Federal Labor Standards Act claims. Notably one of his special cases included managing expert witnesses and client reports in a five-million-dollar breach of contract case. As an attorney, he is dedicated to giving his clients the best possible defense based upon their individual case needs.
Carlos is a part of the Maritime Law Society and he has a certificate from Tulane Law which is recognized as the top Maritime Law program. He is a part of the International Law Society and holds a certificate in International Mediation. Carlos is fluent in Spanish and English.
