Dylan Speck is an associate attorney at the firm’s Houston, Texas office. Dylan focuses his practice on matters involving admiralty and maritime law, including claims arising under general maritime law, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, the Jones Act and the Defense Base Act.
Mr. Speck is a native Houstonian and after graduating from Texas Christian University, returned to Houston to work for an offshore services company before beginning law school. Mr. Speck graduated magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 2016. While in law school, he was a member of the Order of the Lytae, was named to the Dean’s List all six semesters, earned five CALI Awards, and was a recipient of the Howard Warren Scholarship, the Hyman L. Slohm Memorial Scholarship and the Fred Parks Faculty Scholarship.
Mr. Speck served as an editor of the Federal False Claims Act and Qui Tam Litigation treatise and gained experience in assisting with admiralty and maritime, Qui Tam, international trade and commercial trucking matters while working as a law clerk for three defense litigation firms prior to joining SBSB.
Mr. Speck was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 2016 and is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
