Karin F. Lieber, an associate at the Houston Office, focuses her practice on the defense of labor and employment cases arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA) and the Defense Base Act (DBA) as well as General Maritime law.
Ms. Lieber graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in
2014 from Boston University School of Law where she served as an Article Editor of the Public Interest Law Journal. Ms. Lieber was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for earning the highest grade in Civil Procedure. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in International Studies and a minor in Political Science from Baylor University in 2010. During her studies at Baylor University Ms. Lieber was an active member and team leader of the Baylor Model United Nations traveling team.
Ms. Lieber’s prior experience includes two internships in general civil litigation law firms in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a judicial clerkship with The Honorable Judge Ken Wise at the Fourteenth Court of Appeals of Texas.
Ms. Lieber was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 2014. She is currently a member of the Texas Bar Association and Houston Young Lawyers Association. Karin is licensed to practice law in Texas and is admitted into the U.S. District for the Southern District of Texas.
Ms. Lieber is an avid lover of the performing arts and foreign cultures. When not defending her clients, Ms. Lieber enjoys attending musicals, theatre and dance performances. She also enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures. She is fluent in English, Italian and French. Ms. Lieber also volunteers for the American Red Cross, St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Houston Food Bank.
